Day Camp

In MPA’s Day Camp, Campers rotate all over campus enjoying many activities sure to spark interest and imagination. Engaged camps will experience art, music, drama, games, science investigation, projects in our new tech center, activities in the makers space and more. Each Friday will be a special day with either a field trip or a special visitor. Each week, Day Camp will have a new theme for the week From time traveling to farm to table, campers will learn new ideas while having fun and making new friends. one. Have a fun summer with arts and crafts, multi-media room, technology, cooking, science and more! There is something for everyone!

Shark Tank Week

Are you an emerging entrepreneur with a creative mind? Campers can develop and pitch ideas and concepts to a panel of their peers. The last day of this themed week camp counselors will help in selecting which ideas were persuasive enough to be selected.

Time Traveler Week

Every day camp will explore different areas in time, the 60s, 70s or 80s and back to the age of pirates. As campers travel through time and day camp each class will connect to different time periods, through art,  music, dance and games campers can explore actives that highlight each era – are you entering the Roaring 20s? Campers might host a Gatsby-inspired event that brings the history of the 1920s to life, create a capture the flag game based on a historical era and have a lot of fun while traveling through time.

Treasure Hunt Week

During this week campers will play games like a secret message, messages that lead to clues, clues that lead places or things on campus, Hide and seek, treasure hunt looking for something shiny, something rough, someplace warm, somewhere loud, something colorful, etc. other games where campers will have to rely on deductive thinking and teamwork.

Survivor Week

None of our friends will be voted off, but still, this theme will have many exciting challenges that will foster teamwork, critical thinking lots of fun! This week campers will be placed in teams or tribes for the week. Each team will compete in challenges that earn points. An idol may be hidden on campus with clues to finding it, or a gross eating contest, not for the faint of heart, just to name a few, winners will be awarded points.

A Week of Mindfulness

For this week each day camp will begin with an all-camp yoga class, after which campers will break into smaller groups for guided meditation., As campers move through day camp each class will concentrate on learning skills that connect to mindfulness through  learning to relax and unwind, mindful eating habits, and having more empathy,

Camper will be asked what they are grateful for, create collages and artwork that shows thankfulness, and do random acts of kindness.

Farm to Table Week

Week six, is Farm to Table where all camper will visit the MPA garden, feed the chickens and collect their eggs, and maintain the vegetable garden. On the last day of the week, a meal based on what was harvested will be planned and prepared by the campers.
