Junior Day Camp is designed for campers who will be four by September 1, 2019. The program provides a warm and nurturing environment where these young campers will gain self-confidence and foundational skills for lifelong learning through both teachers guided investigation and independent exploration. Campers collaborate and play together, engaging in hands-on learning with diverse instructional materials and child-friendly vocabulary.
Campers must be toilet trained and independent in the bathroom.
Enrollment is limited to 12.
Afternoon 12 -3 pm
The Morning preschool can be expanded to a full-day program by adding the afternoon program. This expanded program includes lunchtime (campers must bring their own bag lunch), naptime, and activities that stimulate communication and social skills, fine and gross motor movement, and creative thought. This full-day option allows more time for fun with both free choice and teacher directed activities involving dramatic play, social studies, and science. Campers choosing this option should bring a pillow, blanket, and perhaps a stuffed animal to sleep with. Sheets, which are provided, will be sent home each Friday for laundering. Enrollment is limited to 12.
Jr. Day Camp for Grade 1 is a self-contained program which integrates reading, writing, and mathematics in a fun and engaging way. Campers will have an opportunity to learn, discover, and connect with friends. Many activities are kid center where campers will learn new skills, perform on stage, play, make art, explore the beautiful MPA campus and garden including taking care of the chickens.
